Ice Climbing in Setesdal
Welcome to the Setesdal valley!
Sølvgarden Hotel and Holiday Centre is located in the idyllic Setesdal valley, surrounded by waterfalls and mountains, and is a perfect starting point for ice climbing. We are located in the centre of the village of Rysstad. If you wish to go ice climbing, Sølvgarden is the best place to stay. Our hotel has received a 4-star rating by the Norwegian Hospitality Association, and our camping and sanitary facilities have a 5-star rating.
Accommodation: You can stay in one of our simple, reasonably priced cabins for 4 people, with access to our 5-star sanitary facilities from NOK 520 pr night pr cabin, or you can stay in one of our apartment cabins with bathroom with shower for 4 to 6 people from NOK 995 pr night pr cabin. You can also stay in one of our light and modern hotel and motel rooms with TV and shower in all rooms from NOK 775 pr person pr night in a double room. If you choose to stay with us for more than one week, every 8th night is for free.
The restaurant is open every day and features a variety of food options, from small dishes to an à la carte menu. We take great pride in serving food rooted in Norwegian traditions and local produce, and we are fully licensed.
Facilities: In our nice sanitary facilities you will have access to washing machines and dryers, and we offer free WiFi access to all our guests.
Our location is well situated for ice climbing in the Setesdal valley, and we offer transportation by snow scooter to some ice climbing routes.
Sølvgarden is situated in the middle of the Setesdal valley, and is close to the winter adventure in Brokke.

The Setesdal Ice Guide
Winter has its own charm in Setesdal, and the valley has a lot to offer during the winter season. We are situated just 10 minutes away from the ski resort of Brokke with alpine slopes, several ski tracks, 20 km of prepared trails in the mountains, and a 5 km illuminated track. For those not afraid of heights, ice climbing is a popular activity in this area.
